To start with, here's a little bit about me:
In my first school report the teacher
wrote: Trudy carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. I was five (!!!)
and my teacher could see that the general wellbeing of the class was really
important to me. I am still like this. I have always been the person that my
friends call when the graze they got on their knee playing indoor netball isn’t
healing, or their child’s green snot is driving them mad. It is part of how I
make my place in the world. And I really love it.
I see photos of myself at five and I have a
cheeky little smile that has been (and still is) a very powerful tool. Cheekiness,
audacity, daring, chutzpah. Most of the world’s shopkeepers, plumbers, ski-lift
attendants and barmen really respond to a cheeky smile. This smile is an
external manifestation of an internal strength – a refusal to take the status
quo as a given, a determination to see if things can be done better, an appeal
to people’s better judgement. My mother would cut to the chase and call it
stubbornness.
These two things: my care for people and my
cheekiness, are what makes me a great homeopath, mother, wife… ME. I really think that
choosing a healthy life means choosing a way that requires thought, courage and daring.
And maybe flicking some people the bird along the way. I love having people
come to my clinic and seeing their courage in their own body grow, witnessing
them come to the realisation that they have the power to change the course of
their lives. This is my job, this is what I was meant to do, and I love it. I love witnessing my children have confidence to be themselves, be in their bodies and do things that inspire them. I love seeing my husband, The Sound Guy, do what he does - he gets to make people's days on a daily basis. He shines when he's doing it and it's a joy to watch. I love thinking, researching, and most of all writing. I love grouping words together and witnessing them invoke emotion in the reader. I love planting the seed of a question in a reader's mind. Love It.
So, that's me! Welcome! And please stick around if you're interested in hearing more about Us: Here and Now.
I look forward to getting to know you better - and one day meeting you, Trudy. :)
